Interview
Interview process — recruiter, peer PM, live product sense, hiring manager, executive closer. Heard that the company overall is undergoing an “agile transformation” from an old-fashioned financial company to something like a fintech. However, it’s clear even from the interviews that this transition is very painful and there is a lot of “bias for inaction.” They say they want to be more agile and “startup-like.” But the people that they hire (even on the PM/tech side) are full of people who have been in traditional financial (not fintech) roles for YEARS. They are so afraid of hiring the "scrappy entrepreneur" that they even avoid a normal person with mid-stage startup experience who could actually be a good fit for them.

Interview
Friendly interviewers with cordial conversations. First interview with the Talent Acquisition Manager followed by an interview with a Lead Product Mgr. Third round consists of a medium challenge Product Sense interview with the hiring manager and another Lead Product Manager.
The 4th and final round with the Technology Director left me puzzled. I was asked how I would support the Cloud Infrastructure Team as a SPM, though I applied to the Digital Finance SPM role with the idea of focusing on enhancing the Annuities customer experience. My PM background has been focused on portal design and financial systems design and not on technical
