I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Shoprite Supermarkets (Rocky Hill, CT) in Aug 2021
Interview
It was really easy. The manager called me the next day to schedule for an interview after I submitted my application. When I got to the store, they brought me into an office and gave me papers to fill out for when I was available to work. Apparently they don’t have a set time so they had me put down 8AM - 7PM depending on the day which were either 8AM - 2PM or 2PM - 7AM. The manager was really patient and understanding despite how nervous I was while struggling to answering their questions and offered me the job on the spot. The manager then had me fill out a few more papers and then gave me a paper of when my orientation was. I recommend applying here!
I applied 9/23/19 and hadn’t heard anything back by 10/18/19 so I called to just ask the hiring manager if they were still hiring for the position since it had been posted on Indeed for 8 months at this point. The manager asked my availability (open) and my most recent position. She asked if I could come in the same day 2 hours later and I did.
The interview was one of the best and stress free interviews I’ve ever had!
I was interviewed by 2 people. Both were very friendly. I believe the first woman was a manager or supervisor of some sort and the second was actually going to be my department manager. The first woman pulled out a sheet of 12 or 13 standard questions that I believe they ask anyone applying and recorded my answers as I responded to her. The questions were very easy to answer. I have anxiety but I was so comfortable during the interview. My now department manager asked more specific question regarding my experience as well as if could handle what the job entails. She’s the one who ok’d me to be hired on the spot.
My tip is to call a week or two after applying because it seems like they’re willing to hire but you have to reach out to them first to show that you’re serious. Smile during the interview.
Filing out paperwork on Monday.
Orientation is on Saturday of the same week.
I was told the I would start the week after.
