I went through two on-site interviews at Sitoo, one focused on culture and one technical.
The cultural interview was with a Product Manager and an Engineering Manager. Both were friendly and genuinely interested in understanding how I work, collaborate, and approach problems. It felt like an open discussion rather than a rigid interview.
The technical interview focused on system design, specifically designing a bulk price uploading platform. The problem was relevant, and I felt I was able to clearly explain my approach, trade-offs, and overall thinking.
Overall, the process was smooth and the people I met were great to talk to. However, the final feedback was that they “could not afford the learning curve” and were looking for someone more senior, which was surprising given that my experience had already been discussed earlier in the process.
Additionally, communication could be improved. I had to follow up twice to receive a final response, and without that, I’m not sure I would have heard back.
It would be helpful if expectations around seniority and evaluation criteria were clarified earlier in the process, to avoid misalignment after multiple interview stages.
