I applied online. I interviewed at SmartSearch (Leeds, England) in Jun 2026
Interview
The interview process, or more accurately, the lack thereof, is indicative of a company that, in my opinion, postures above its station.
When you advertise for senior position roles in a supposed attempt to grow your company, you should expect senior level candidates. As one of these candidates, having not received any feedback for almost two weeks after being informed it would be no more than one week, and ultimately having to chase the hiring team, I find this entire process bizarre, alienating and totally unprofessional.
A huge red flag for me is that the hiring department consists of one individual. Never in my career have I seen such a supposedly impressive company operate in such an unimpressive manner.
My recommendation: SmartSearch are seeking senior-level staff, but they do not have the infrastructure or business acumen to support this. If you are a competent and senior specialist, I would look elsewhere.

Interview
After a very manual application process of sending an email with CV and cover letter, a call was organised to discuss experience with Talent. The salary offered was way lower than expectation. Was told would discuss internally about salary expectation and get back with a decision.
Much like the other interview reviews on here. No correspondence to update since.

Interview
After applying on Indeed was offered a conversation with the recruitment manager which involved questions about past experience and reasons for looking for a new job etc.
The conversation was fairly informal and friendly.
Was told I would be sent a technical interview question but didn't hear anything back.
