If I had to rate my interview experience on a scale of 1 to 10, it would be -2.
I first applied for this position in spring 2025. I went through a phone screening and an online interview, investing about 1.5 hours in total. I understand that companies don’t always provide individual feedback to every candidate, but for an IT company, it’s pretty poor that they didn’t even manage to send out an automated rejection email.
The reason for the -2 rating is what happened next: three weeks after the interview, I followed up to ask about the status—whether they had filled the role, etc.—and didn’t receive any response from the recruiter. (I reached out via DM replying to the original interview invitation.)
The ironic part is that 6+ months later, they contacted me directly on LinkedIn about the exact same position, saying my profile would be a great fit. I told them I was already familiar with the role since we had been in contact earlier that year, and I explained what had happened. They assured me this wouldn’t happen again.
Needless to say, the exact same scenario repeated itself. The only difference was that this time, I didn’t bother following up after they wasted another 1.5 hours of my time.
