Application
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at State of Kansas (Wichita, KS) in Sep 2014
Interview
Ten questions preprepared by interviewer - all asked to all applicants. My answers were typed as I responded. I was given a chance to ask questions at the end. Then I was fingerprinted for fbi background check.
Took a total of 3 months. Fill out the app, had the interview, checked my references did the security clearance check and the was offered the position 2 weeks after the finger print check. Results got back faster than expected which worked out great for me as far as a start date.

Interview
I filled out the application online. I had to submit a tax clearance document, transcript, and letter of interest. I got a call about 2 weeks later to set up an interview. You arrive 15 minutes early and they give you a list of the interview questions. They are strictly behavioral questions. They have a list of these questions on their website somewhere - but there are over 800 questions and for my interview they gave me 8 questions. Nothing else was asked aside from those behavioral questions.
