I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Student Conservation Association in Jan 2023
Applied online. About two weeks later, the HM emailed to schedule a first round video interview. I participated in the video interview, which I believed to be a positive experience. I followed up within a week or so but did not receive any response. It has been about 6 weeks since the interview and the position is still posted.
- What is your experience managing data and vendor relationships?

Anonymous Employee
I interviewed at Student Conservation Association
Fast, Communication through email and interview conducted via zoom. Follow up was in 5 business days. Lots of emails, so you will need to eye your inbox frequently. Documents needed are well outlined.
- What is Your Prior Leadership Experience ?

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I interviewed at Student Conservation Association
Quick phone screening that lasted about 20-30min. The typical interview questions as well as letting me know about the position. Some curveball questions but made it through. It wasn't something I should have been nervous about to say the least.
- What would you do if you didn't know the answer to a question someone asked? (for staffing a visitors center)

Anonymous Employee
I applied online. I interviewed at Student Conservation Association
Straightforward. Only curve ball question was a behavioral one on how I would deal with a very specific situation related to the position, I was not familiar with one of the technical terms. The rest of the time was taken up by a thorough explanation of the job and the expectations.
- -Why do we need National Parks in your opinion/ Importance of Conservation - Describe a challenge you faced - Can you handle x,y,z (heights, hiking, etc.)

Anonymous Employee
I interviewed at Student Conservation Association
The interview involved a phone call in which the interviewer asked a series of standard questions. The call was more like a conversation than grueling test. Overall it was a good experience.
- How does the mission relate with your own values?

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I applied online. I interviewed at Student Conservation Association in Mar 2021
You create a profile through The SCA where you list all your interests and qualifications and attach your resume. Then, you are able find what internships are available and select which ones you are interested in. Then, your application has a chance to be sent to the partner to be reviewed. Sometimes you get an interview from this and then after the interview you have a chance of getting the job.
- What qualities do you want from your coworkers?

Anonymous Employee
I interviewed at Student Conservation Association
Pretty easy. interviewers just want to let you know what kind of work you should be prepared to do and ask if you're capable of performing said jobs. over the phone, very simple and easy going
- describe a time where you had conflict and how did you resolve it

Student i haven't given interview. Please make glass door open to students. Students seeking knowledge are unable to see the content needed to review the interview process and companies reviews.
- Make glass door open to student?

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Student Conservation Association in Oct 2018
Had one interview on the phone which lasted about one hour. This included the questions I asked. The interviewer asked me questions mainly about examples of conflict resolution and working with groups.
- Describe a challenging experience and how you resolved it

Anonymous Employee in Seward, AK
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Student Conservation Association (Seward, AK) in Apr 2018
Multi stepped process. First was an email with a set of questions asking about fitness, comfort being in bear country, and experience in fisheries and freshwater work. The phone interview was a group interview and was dedicated to the more personal nitty gritty questions, like “what would you do if you came here”, “where do you see each yourself in a few years” and “why should we hire you”?
- If you had a superpower, what would you have and why?
