Interview
My first round interview went okay. It seemed as though the interviewer wasn't fully engaged while I was giving my background and experience. When I asked questions about the role they couldn't really provide me with much insight on the specifics of this role but kept referring to the company culture as a whole or how their role specifically tied into my question. I didn't feel completely satisfied after the first round interview but moved forward to a second round interview.
I had my interview scheduled for a certain time, let’s say 12:45. The interviewee was 10 minutes late. As she got on at 12:55, she proceeded to ask me to wait another 2 minutes. Things seemed chaotic and busy. When she then gets on, she asks me “Why Taboola and why this role”. While i'm answering thoughtfully, people in the background keep coming up to her behind the camera and talking to her. So I am getting distracted but continuing on as professionally as I could be. She then goes on to ask me if I had any questions for her, I ask about 2-3 questions. On my last question, she goes I am so sorry I actually have to run to another meeting. The interview has not even been 10 minutes long because of the delay we already had in starting. I proceed to say I am so sorry, I thought we had another 15 minutes scheduled because I was confused why she was wrapping it up already and said we could just end it now. She proceeds to inform me she double booked during an interview. I was very disappointed but ended the interview professionally.
From the jump I had my doubts.. but wanted to continuing the interview process even if it was just for practice. I don’t want to say it was a waste of time but I withdrew my application right after this “interview”. I would just be weary during this interview process and trust your gut. "
