Interview

Met with two people for a first interview and they seemed more interested in the company then I was coming from then in learning anything about me so I tried to bring my value into each question they asked. I left the interview thinking they were just looking to find out about they company I was coming from. After I left I followed up and then followed up again asking if there was anything else I could provide and never got a response.

I believe this was actually for a developer position. We usually ask about employment history and especially the previous employer. In looking back we didn't see any emails during this time period we did not reply too, but apologize if we did miss yours, and for what this is worth we sincerely try hard never to do that. We're sorry you had a negative experience.

Interview

Phone conversation with CTO discussing work history, personality, answering some basic questions about mobile development and the Internet of Things. 30 minute in-person with CTO and CEO. 1-hour panel interview over Google Hangouts with 5 individuals. Was asked some basic questions. The objective seemed to be more "Are you a good fit here" vs "Tell us everything you know about bubble sort."

We feel strongly it's in everyone's interest to be as fair as possible with compensation; this is subjective and can be hard to do. We do sometimes ask for a salary range in the first call to avoid going through several interviews with a candidate and discovering an insurmountable gap. That said we've discussed not doing this to avoid (even subconsciously) treating people unfairly. We appreciate the feedback.
