I interviewed with Taylor Thompson Whitting in Sydney for a Structural Draftsperson role and had a very positive experience. I first met informally with a director, then with two BIM/drafting team members, who were professional, welcoming, and asked good questions about my previous experience. This gave me a good sense of the office culture and made the interviews a genuinely positive experience.
The process included a standard Revit test, which, given my 10+ years of modelling experience, was straightforward in content. However, it was conducted via Zoom screen share, making it difficult to work effectively—especially for Revit users accustomed to multiple screens. This setup felt unfair and not ideal for assessing practical skills.
Although I wasn’t offered the role, the interviews were professional, and I would recommend clarifying test logistics in advance, as this could trip up otherwise strong candidates for drafting roles.
