Only had the initial one with recruiter, was told I had a good chance to get moved forward with the next steps but never heard back within the deadline promised. Reached out and got ghosted.
I interviewed at The Conference Board (New York, NY)
Interview
Starts with a screening call, then 2-3 virtual interviews before you're invited in to meet a number of team members. Very conversational - I never felt that they were asking a trick question. They were extraordinarily responsive and transparent, and I was given very positive feedback. A few people made comments that led me to believe that I was poised to get the job. After the in-person, there was radio silence for weeks without any indication of next steps. I sent polite emails to HR asking if there was a timeline, but I was not given a sufficient response. After about a month, I was emailed a dispassionate rejection. I was desperate for work at the time, so I emailed back asking if I could be considered for the Associate position. An HR representative called me to apologize profusely that I was only given an email and not a call to issue the rejection, and insisted that they would call me the next day about the Associate position, which she said I had a great chance at getting. Weeks went by again without hearing anything from them. Eventually, I was sent another email saying that they had filled the position. I politely emailed asking for feedback, and was never given a response. The whole process was a massive blow to my morale. This was undoubtedly the emotional low point of what was an extremely long and taxing job search.
