      Senior Data Analyst Interview

      Jan 16, 2026
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Oakbrook Terrace, IL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at The Joint Commission (Oakbrook Terrace, IL) in Nov 2025

      Interview

I interviewed for their new healthcare research branch they were starting up. I had a 30 minute screening call with HR then I had an interview with the director of the research. Both of those went well and I received positive feedback. I was then given a take home programming assignment which I was given a week to complete. It was the longest assignment I have ever done. It took me over of 20 hours to complete, and I have around five years of experience doing this exact work. I had to download Medicare Advantage data, clean and aggregate data, merge in other data sources, calculate penetration rates, create frequency tables for output, run two different regression models, and then discuss limitations of the models and better ways to implement them. I had to write around two pages of responses and around 600 lines of code. That is a large ask for a potential candidate who already has a full time job. I have done around 8 take home assignments for other companies and this was by far the longest. Many of these questions would have been great discussion topics during an interview rather than writing it out. After I turned in the assignment I was rejected with no follow up interview to discuss my work. What a waste of time.
