I applied in-person. I interviewed at The Service Companies (Los Angeles, CA) in Jun 2017
Interview
Came inside the office, filled out onboarding documents (30 min.), given a test on server etiquette, reviewed test score to determine whether you made the cut (you need at least 70% to pass), if you pass you become a server. If not, you are offered concessions, bar back, polisher, or busser. Either way, you walk out with a job. They hire on-the-spot.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They ask you to define different pieces of catering equipment and describe banquet serving protocol (ex. what side do you deliver food/beverages, what side do you clear, what is it called when servers deliver food in synchronicity)
I applied online. I interviewed at The Service Companies (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2022
Interview
Easy Going and Friendly and Great communication and Help throughout the hiring process Great work Opportunities for us who like to work Independently. Great learning opportunities, and a wealth of knowledge, Most of all very good pay in comparison to most on call companies for the hospitality Industry and Catering and banquet Industry other than Banquet. work. I would recommend this Company for anyone starting out in the hospitality insustry or anyone in between jobs and anyone bored at home or people who like to work on their own schedule, The Managers and supervisors are very understanding as long as you are open and honest in communicating anything and everything. They do their very best to get you work if you are serious about your commitment and ability to work well and commit to your shifts, and again they pay a lot more than any company out there in the los Angeles and Orange County Ca areas that is a fact.
