      Compliance Interview

      Feb 6, 2026
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Trading 212 (London, England) in Feb 2026

      Interview

A recruiter from Trading 212 contacted me on LinkedIn. We connected and had a short 10–15 minute call where she asked basic HR questions. However, she was unable to provide good amount of detail on the role or a job spec. After this, she moved me forward to an interview. Her communication was very good throughout. The interview was held on Google Meet with the Head and Deputy Head of [X]. The meeting started about five minutes late and lasted around 20 minutes. They said it would be brief and informal, but it felt awkward and very unstructured. They asked basic interview questions and did not seem very engaged. It was hard to have a normal conversation. They did not talk much about the role or the team, which made it difficult for me to explain my skills or show what I could bring to the role. When I asked my questions, they gave very short and repetitive answers about what they expected. This did not leave me with a good feeling after the interview. Even if I had been offered the chance to move forward, I would not have wanted to, as it felt like it would be difficult to enjoy working with people who seemed so disinterested.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The interview questions included an overview of my background, my understanding of the FCA, and whether I could reference areas such as financial promotions or SMCR within the FCA Handbook. I was also asked which parts of the FCA Handbook I am most confident in, along with a few questions based on my CV.
