The recruiter started nothing and asked me to do white board coding directly. The whole interview is not so friendly. When I was writing code, he just worked with his own laptop. I guess they didn't really want to hire someone.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Tripadvisor (Ottawa, ON) in Jan 2019
Interview
1 hour Skype interview with a supposed senior engineer of the company (They had a last minute change and I was interviewed by a younger engineer). The interview was 10-15 minutes of resume questions followed by 45 minutes of technical questions including a coding problem.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Tripadvisor
Interview
I went through one phone screening and was invited in to speak with the manager whose team I would be joining. There was first a half-an-hour of talking about my goals and seeing that I fit with the team's mission, then about 45 minutes of writing code to solve an array problem - mainly to make sure I knew to check for things that would raise exceptions - and pseudo-coding for a more involved brainteaser to test knowledge on time/space complexity.
