Interview
Hired by Internship Career Center, UC Davis website post. Got an email the next day to come in for in person interview. Had a one on one interview with multiple people in the lab. Introduced to everyone that I will be working with. Talked about projects that they were conducting and if I was interested. Got an offer during the interview.
A committee of 4-6 people ask you various questions. Some questions I was asked was: How has your current role prepared you for this role? What experience do you have that makes you feel you'd be successful in this role? What are your short-term goals and long-term goals?
Hiring process was long, need to put in the legwork to get all the documentation together. Most academic hires I've seen is usually a referral, a volunteer or internal promotion. Unless that person is completely unqualified, the interview is usually a formality.

Interview
Sent my resume, after 2 weeks I received an email saying they'd like me to come in. Very upfront about the position and responsibilities, interview was somewhat casual, just discussed my skills and what the work environment would be like
