      Anonymous employee
      Santa Barbara, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at UC Santa Barbara (Santa Barbara, CA) in May 2009

      Interview

Very typical of the UC process. Must go through the same steps with every candidate. Must ask you all the same questions. HR is slow.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at UC Santa Barbara in Sep 2013

      Interview

The interview process was lengthy and time consuming. After submitting my application, I had a phone interview, in person interviews which included me giving a lecture, and multiple conversations. I was surprised that this process took several months. The department was experiencing transition and budget problems, which made them appear disorganized. Everyone was very friendly and clearly cared deeply about their areas and students. I enjoyed getting to know the department, and had a pleasant experience learning about the programs and courses, as well as meeting the faculty and staff.

      Question 1

I did not find any questions to be particularly difficult or unexpected, I felt easily able to answer all questions.
