I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at US Air Force (Arlington, TX) in Jan 2015
Interview
There was no interview to join the USAF. Upon making contact with a recruiter, I was sent to a facility to take the ASVAB test that measures your strengths and weaknesses so they can find the right job for you. There was never a formal interview to get recruited into the military.
no real interview required other than a background check investigation and a talk about your past experiences, school grades, criminal history, etc with a recruiter at a local recruitment station

Interview
Long medical review and a lot of paperwork. There are various positions for growth within the career field that have various interview and application processes as well. You will have to go to MEPS (Medical Entrance Processing Station) once to a few times based on your medical history. You will do an in-depth medical review, you will answer questions with your recruiter and then go to basic training.
