I submitted my resume online and received a call from the company's internal Senior Recruiter within 2-3 days. After a few preliminary questions, an interview was scheduled for the following day. Just as a side note, the online job listing clearly stated that industry experience was "a plus but not required." This was for an Office Assistant position (data entry, accounts payable, etc.), so NOT something that requires industry specific skills.
The interview itself was pleasant and the Senior Recruiter seemed nice. They asked the standard repertoire of interview questions. The overall experience was fine except for one glaring thing. As mentioned earlier, the online job listing stated that industry experience wasn't required. This was also covered in the preliminary phone interview, and again in the formal interview. However, a few days after the interview I received an email stating that, while my work history was "impressive", they need someone with industry experience. Finding a job is difficult, and I really wish they had decided that before giving me hope and essentially wasting my time.
