I applied in-person. I interviewed at Upwind (Tel Aviv-Yafo) in Oct 2025
Interview
The process begins with an introductory call to discuss the role and your background, followed by a home assignment to evaluate your practical skills. You will then move into two technical interviews, concluding with a session led by the CTO to discuss high-level architecture. Finally, an HR interview ensures cultural alignment and covers the final details of the hiring process.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Upwind
Interview
Very quick interview process. The recruiter and hiring manager were easy to get a hold of and very responsive. The recruiter moved things along quickly, which I appreciate. I had 3 rounds of interview and no take-home assignment.
I interviewed at Upwind (Belfast, Northern Ireland)
Interview
Fairly arbitrary, depends entirely on the interviewer with practically no consistency between them.
A screening interview that is mostly about what you want to work on;
A technical interview that is 50% CV walkthrough and 50% system design of a cloud based scanning tool. This is looking for very specific skills that are not well aligned to the work that will be done.
“Upwinded” (verb): when a company offers you a job, then proceeds to ghost you afterward
My friends and family actually started using the term after my experience here. Apart from that, everyone I spoke with throughout the process was genuinely pleasant, nice, and easy to talk to. Good luck if you’re interviewing here, and I wish you a better experience.
