Originally interviewed for a Project Manager 3 position. In my 3rd interview, a manager told me they didnt think Id be good for the level 3 position, despite meeting or exceeding all the criteria for the role, but could maybe be a level 1 PM. When I asked why they believed that they didnt give an answer other than 'just a feeling'. I did not receive the level 3 job or any additional consideration for another PM role.
Fast forward several months later, Utility contacts me about a Program Manager position that would entail overseeing the roles that I did not receive before. I express interest and give availability for an interview. Dont hear from them for 2 weeks. After multiple follow ups they tell me the position has been put on hold but dont provide a reasoning. They say there is a level 2 PM role available if Id be interested in.
I schedule a meeting for the level 2 PM role and met with the Director of Operations for the most painful interview Ive ever had. He was the most dry monotone person Ive ever spoken with. Little to no information about the company or role was provided. I was bombarded with question after question with no conversation or indication about my provided answer. After I finished answering a question the interviewer would just stare at me in silence for 10-15 seconds then say 'okay' and proceed to the next question.
Deeper into the interview he said that the team was being reshaped and members were being pushed harder to elevate them to an excellent team. This has apparently caused some turnover and instability in the department which is unsurprising because the pay scales here are already significantly below market average.
At the end of the call the interviewer told me that I represented myself well and enjoyed our 'conversation' and they would let me know about the next steps shortly. I havent heard from them in almost 3 weeks despite multiple follow ups.
Dont waste your time applying here.
