Job agency approached via LinkedIn. After i expressed my interest, recruiter setup a phone screen.
First Round of Interview: Basic questions around, what are you currently working on, why are you interested in this position, how do you keep yourself updated about new trends/technologies in Technical communication etc...
Second Round of Interview: After the phone screen, i was asked to submit some work samples, which I did and was scheduled for another interview with a lead technical writer and senior technical writer based in the U.S. Interview went very well. Some scenario based questions, example, how did you deal with a difficult SME? How does your perfect day at work look like? Have you heard of Information Mapping? Are you familiar with RoboHelp or Madcap Flare?
Third round: A written test. Some text was sent to me in a txt.file and I was asked to rewrite the text for a user guide. I had to make it directive, clear and concise, using any writing structure that will be helpful to the user.
Final round: With the Voyanta product manager and BA in London. Questions around mostly how I get my work done, challenges, what I am looking for in my new job, qualities/behavior of people that irritate me around work space, reason for looking out for opportunities, what are my hobbies outside of work, qualities I look for in my manager etc.
Interview process was very smooth. The recruitment agency, talentminded is based in Canada. The recruiter was very professional and not pushy or bossy like other recruiters. Really enjoyed talking to all the parties involved in the interview process. Everyone was very helpful in giving information about the company and the product. Seemed liked an interesting cloud-based application. I was offered the job but couldn't accept it as I had decided to stay back with my current employer..
