I submitted application with resume and cover letter. Hour long interview with hiring manager and consultant. I was then asked to complete a 60 minute skills assessment with a proctor present. As a finalist, I was extended an invitation to campus for a day-long onsite interview. The salary was not disclosed in the job description or during any of the interview process. Upon getting to the final round, I inquired about the salary. Salary was off my expectations by nearly $50k. I was told that those salary ranges do not exist in private school settings, but when you look online at the organization's IRS form 990 online, you will see that similar titled jobs and leadership roles paid between $135k and $600k. The lack of pay transparency (about the posted role, as well as honesty about the compensation of current leadership) did not foster a positive candidate experience. I am impressed with the school, but the lack of pay transparency was a red flag for me during the interview process.
