I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Wavestone (New York, NY) in Apr 2017
Interview
The first interview was a phone screen with a recruiter from HR. Since I was referred by an external agency, the phone screen was mostly to confirm my eligibility and to learn more about the company. The recruiter was very friendly and personable. I was brought in about 2 weeks later for an in-person interview. The interview consisted on 3 back-to-back interviews with Managers and Senior Managers. The interviewers were all knowledgeable in their subject matter and were easy to talk with. The only hiccup I ran into during the in-person interview was that my list of interviewers changed at the last minute. This resulted in 2/3 of my interviewers being from a different group and not having the subject matter expertise I was interviewing for. I'm aware that things come up in consulting, however my preference would have been to either reschedule my interview or have people from the same business group. My case studies were with a Manager from a different team so it was frustrating to try to understand the context. This also resulted in them having no idea what I was talking about, and I had no idea what they were talking about, given I was interviewing for a completely different department. The final in-person interview is with the MD of the team you're interviewing for. Overall, my interview experience was pleasant. I ultimately declined the offer as they weren't a good fit and didn't offer the type of work I was interested in.
