I applied the role Software Development Lead online through their website in May 2020. After more than a week, I finally got an email to schedule for an interview. All rounds took place online because I was in a different location. Although I applied the role Software Development Lead but they sent an invite for Software Engineer interview instead, the funny thing was that they told me that the post is there just to fill the webpage, and not hiring a lead at the moment :). But fine, I took the chance, never say never. The 1st interview was a generic one. The usual stuff: qualification, skill and background check, etc. And I was asked to have a 2nd interview. The 2nd interview only talked about my technical experience, some behavioural as well as tech scenario questions. No coding test at all. I asked about the tech team organization and culture. And what next? I was being ghosted, truly unprofessional. But thinking back, I can say this is a norm for Hong Kong tech company interviews.
