My first interview at WellMed was for an IT project management position. During the interview, the interviewers sat and quizzed with me questions from the PMBOK. In 23 years of working on healthcare/IT, I had necer experienced anything like that. I have worked for two major EHR vendors but I could not get a PM job in a struggling IT department at WellMed. They layer told me that I was not technical enough. I implemented EHRs in the past for two major vendors. PMs in that space craft project plans, manage the plans. manage budgets, and the project team while they are onsite. I have also been an analyst but I was not good enough for WellMed's IT department. That's because its a network of good old boys from the airforce who want people who look like them in their department. Wellmed is one of the least ethical places I have seen. United Health, WellMed's parent company should more carefully screen WellMed's interview processes.
