Woodmac approached me to ask if I would be interested in a senior level (VP) position. After 2 telephone interviews, a long afternoon at their offices in London with more interviews, one of which focused only on negative things and was halfway through a case study (which I haven’t been asked to do since applying for graduate positions) I was then informed that they had other candidates to see and one of them had postponed so it would be a few weeks before I would receive any feedback.
It eventually took them almost a month and they then followed up requesting I have another another telephone interview with one of their US based SVPs. The interview went well but I then heard nothing for a week so chased them. I was sent an email saying they were having a meeting the following week and that they would get back to me after that. Two weeks later I had yet again heard nothing so I emailed again to be told that they were having another call that evening to discuss things and would get in touch afterwards. And predictably I yet again heard nothing for several days. So I emailed them again and received no reply to my email at all.
Eventually, over a month later, they got back in touch to say that they liked me but were not in a position to make me an offer so I requested a telephone call to receive feedback.
During the feedback call it transpired that they had actually made an offer to someone else and had basically strung me along for 4 months. Whilst they apologised for this and said this was not the way they would normally operate it came across as disorganised, unprofessional and extremely disrespectful.
