I submitted my resume in response to a position advertised on the company website in November 2019. Within about a week I received a phone call from HR with basic screening questions on my skill set, education, location, availability, etc. I was also introduced to the company and office culture in addition to things such as the company's goals and mission. We set up an in person interview for the following week.
I interviewed with three people in a conference room. It was much more like a conversation than panelists asking me questions. They very much had the same attitude as me in that we were interviewing each other looking for a good fit. Of course, there were some technical discussions but it was in regards to my knowledge, experience, and about current and future projects they'd want and need me to be involved in. It wasn't a grilling like sitting and doing a differential equations test or something.
They were very kind and eager to tell me about the company so I had a good idea what I would be signing on with. They showed me around the office, which gave me a good idea of the atmosphere and we chatted with a few people before we concluded.
