Got contacted by a recruiter for a short interview then I received homework test. I was left with the impression they give it to everyone regardless of the initial interview and no consultations with the developers about the candidate. Which can turn out a huge time waster.
The task was to build JavaScript Canvas where you upload a photo and you can move it around, zoom etc. They send you minimal skeleton of the app to build upon. Thumbs up that the task isn’t useless hackerrank but what they actually do.
It took a week and a nudge from my side to receive feedback. Apparently I didn’t do things that were required. I had to reread the task a few more times to catch up these things on different places that don’t look like requirements at all to me.
They also said there is an error in the app that I couldn’t reproduce, but from the message they gave me it’s connected with the babel configuration that was with the skeleton of the app they sent me and I never used nor needed…
Ironically, they want clean code but their task requirements are anything but clear.
