I sent a resume and was selected to do a phone interview almost immediately. What totally annoyed me about the interview was A) the stupid questions (I am sick of interviewers asking people to throw themselves under the bus. I am so sick and tired of the so called "perfect people" setting themselves above everyone else because some algorithm decided they were the model emplyee (when you think about the woman who went viral for not putting her dog on a leash in Central Park, you know who I mean by "the perfect people").
This company should really be ashamed of themselves because THEY do not tout themselves as some vicious cut throat corporation. They try to act like they care about all types of people who have been shut out of the job market. They obviously did not do their homework to determine my age before the interview. Though I don't see why it matters because it was a remote p/t job where no one would have had to see me.
The interview was a train wreck for other reasons too. The job description said "database management" no coding required. But then she seemed to call into question my skills when she did not even know what the job was herself (it was a job board. I use other company's job boards all the time and I usually figure out how to use them more effectively than the people who work these companies...like Symplicity where I have to give detailed instructions to employees of these companies and the schools who use them, how to find certain things like for instance, archived jobs). I told them that, and they had to invent a reason why I was not tech savvy enough. The question I posted below was what they asked me To which I answered, "I have no idea." The reason is they should bloody well have given me their stupid job for the reason I cited above.
