Business architects analyze existing organizational procedures and identifies opportunities for improvement or ways to better coordinate teams to allow for a more efficient and streamlined process. They often serve as a liaison between sales, marketing, and other departments within the organization to ensure individual department goals are aligned and coordinated to promote efficient and successful overall operations. They may implement automated processes or design systems that can increase efficiency.
Business architects typically have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or another science or math discipline. They must be comfortable working closely with teams and individuals throughout many areas of the organizations. These positions require a deep understanding of the entire business architecture landscape and its relation to the customer journey. Business architects generally would be experienced with digital customer journey mapping techniques.
