What is a Security Engineer?

Today�s businesses, organizations and government entities handle sensitive information on a daily basis. This requires having a system in place to protect it. As a security engineer, you will help ensure that that sensitive data is kept confidential. You will make sure we have the right software and hardware in place, supervise IT projects that guarantee the safety of valuable information as well as our internet and intranet infrastructure.

This job requires that you document and report security threats, as well as to take measures to prevent these threats from being carried out. A computer science or other IT degree is desirable for this position. Previous experience with a variety of coding languages, operating systems and networks is also advantageous. You will be expected to be able to work both independently and in conjunction with a team.

  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems as they arise
  • Basic coding skills, such as HTML, CSS and other languages
