Qualified candidates should have a minimum A.S. in Quality Management, Engineering, or technical field preferred, High School Diploma, or GED required. Prior experience in quality with 4-5 years' experience in a manufacturing setting. Experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and use both manual and computerized measuring equipment/systems. Proven record with 4-5 years' experience in a leadership role.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer. The Quality Engineer reports directly to the Plant Manager. Your workday will be on site in Point Pleasant, WV.
1.0 Function as internal lead auditor for the Quality Management System (QMS), ISO 9001 and other certifications by:
a. Maintaining lead auditor certification.
b. Planning, scheduling audits and training the internal audit team.
c. Following up with the functional departments to ensure all findings are communicated, understood, and addressed in a timely and complete manner.
d. Schedule, coordinate and lead the external 3rd party audits to maintain certifications.
2.0 Provide the quality leadership for all quality items in the Product Lifecycle Management and stage-gating process, and quality support and training for other departments and suppliers involved in these activities. The key activities include but are not limited to:
a. Developing the DFMEA, DVP&R, process flow diagram, and PFMEA to identify and plan mitigation of risks.
b. Identification of critical-to-quality-characteristics within products and product families.
c. Control Plans, test plans, gaging requirements, gage design/build.
d. Develop and complete documentation including; quality plans, quality standards, gaging, measurement and test instructions, and reporting methods.
3.0 Supervise other quality department employees as assigned.
4.0 Lead or assist in problem solving investigations, DOE’s, gage and capability studies.
5.0 In conjunction with the process engineer, Investigate and recommend new measuring, testing, inspection, error proofing and best practices to improve quality, product yield and productivity.
6.0 Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on process performance, as required.
7.0 Performing other duties, as assigned.
