What do we do? Intralogistics and automation are our business focus and we are looking for an IT Developer to support our Material Flow Control (MFC) team. Within that team you will get in touch with all technologies across the whole spectrum we use in the gigantic distribution centers we build for our customers. Your code makes pallets and trays go from A to B. Your code and configuration handles inputs from all kinds of sensors and scanners, finds the optimal path for transport units through the system and acts as the translator between the hardware components and the Witron Warehouse Management System (WWMS). You will be in touch with professionals around the world and work on solutions for our industry leading and high-profile customers.

Salary: $72,000-$78,000k
As an Junior IT Developer, you will:

Working together with the responsible team-lead or project-lead to create technical solutions for our existing WWMS application. Areas of work include, for example routing configuration for new warehouses, traffic analysis, coding new or improving existing action point handling, debugging or researching reported issues or questions around traffic routing, developing new and expanding existing interfaces to add features and new support new hardware components.

Development, testing, and deployment of change requests, projects, assignments in a collaborative international team environment or working individually on isolated issues.

If you see something, say something: Supporting and improving existing and/or new applications and functionalities.

Creation of technical documents and specifications for your solutions to allow maintainability of your software.

Collaborating with our analyst team on topics that come up during project ramp-up, development, testing and after final acceptance.

All hands on deck during on-site project commissioning and ramp-up. You’ll be working on north American based projects (USA and Canada).

Limited communication with clients within the respective field and independent decision-making based on knowledge level.

Based on experience, knowledge level, and personal preference responsibilities will be expanded to never run out of interesting tasks.
Requirements:

Proficiency in C++ and working knowledge of .NET Framework. Ideally you have projects to showcase during the interview process. You are able to talk freely about the key concepts of object orientated programming and can demonstrate that you have used C++ productively before.

Basic knowledge of PL/SQL

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with both local and international colleagues and customers in English, across technical and non-technical contexts.

Ability to be a team player, work and support the team especially under pressure and take responsibility within your area of expertise.

Great attitude towards solving big problems and a “Can-Do” attitude.

Helpful but not required: Exposure to logistics industry / terminology.

Helpful but not required: Exposure to large codebases.
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent experience combined with some educational experience.

Experience should include project design, coding, testing, delivery and technical documentation of GitHub projects, or personal coding examples, class projects or previous professional assignments.

Logistics exposure is helpful but not required.
Scheduling & Travel

Projects are all over the globe and so is the need see your work in action: Must be able to travel locally and internationally (up to 60%). Travel times fluctuate based on project needs and are always communicated ahead of time. Personal planning is considered during travel planning as much as possible.

This is primarily an in-office position when not travelling. Occasional remote work is available after 6 months and depends on individual work-style, performance, and gained knowledge.
