Description The University of New Haven (UNH) offers more than 80 undergraduate and 25 graduate degree programs from its five colleges. Fields of study include arts and sciences, business, criminal justice and forensic science, and engineering. The private university has about 5,200 students and enrollment has been increasing at a record-breaking pace. In order to keep up with that growth, UNH has been busy building new facilities such as a new forensic science institute, dorms, and a sports stadium. The University of New Haven was founded in 1920 as the New Haven YMCA Junior College. It held classes in space rented from Yale University for nearly 40 years before its own building was constructed.
