I worked at Alt Software (More than a year)
Worked on interesting projects
Developed my professional skills
Improved my professional network
Compensation was a bit low - cashflow issues got in the way of fair compensation
Regional office closed down, felt perhaps a bit premature
Advice to Management
Working here was a great opportunity for me -- Though, given the chance, I might have suggested that our resources at the company were more focused on product development during my time there.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Alt Software (Toronto, ON (Canada)) in January 2010.
First I got a phone call from recruiter about this ALT embedded software position, this position need embedded system development experience like WinCE, Windows Mobile, Linux, ... Several days later got on-site interview with the HR, he was checking my skill and experince will fit into this position or not. Took another week to get another interview with the technical team about the expereince in LCD interface, 2D/3D, debug and development experience. Asked a question about how to make sure the LCD memory is correct during the manufacture process, and currently they have only 40% of successful rate, how to imporve it. Some diffcult tech problems relative to graphic driver and how you will deal with it
