Description Long Island University (LIU) has three residential campuses in New York (Brooklyn, the C.W. Post Campus in Brookville, and Southampton). The school also operates regional campuses in Westchester and Rockland counties and Brentwood, as well as several special degree programs (including one at West Point). Other programs include SEAmester (classes on tall ships) and Friends World (with five overseas centers). LIU has an enrollment of more than 25,000 students and about 700 full-time faculty members. LIU offers 590 degree programs and certificates. The school traces its roots to 1886 when the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy was founded. The first of LIU's residential campuses, The Brooklyn Campus, began in 1926.
