I have been working at MetaLab part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-have truly been impressed with the ways that the design team and TA team work together on hiring
-the team continues to iterate on the hiring process, making improvements, considering feedback, focusing on diversity and eliminating biases

    Cons

-hard to compete with $ against tech (but this is a general complaint about the state of recruiting top talent really)
-interview process is somewhat skewed in favor of the co, working on making it more balanced

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at MetaLab.

    Interview

Started off with a call with the recruiter, which went really well. I was informed that they were looking for senior level designers, and I didn't have senior level experience, but she and one of the design directors encouraged me to do the test project. The test project was capped at 10 hours, but for the prompt, it was a fairly unrealistic ask. Also, I was not compensated for my time, and was rejected a week after. Should've just not wasted my time on it knowing that they were looking for senior people.
