Description Modula is a leading manufacturer of automated storage solutions, designed to optimize space and improve picking and storage operations for any industrial sector or environment. Established in 1987, Modula has eight branches worldwide, a network of 100 distributors, and factories in the United States, Italy, and China. More information can be found at modula.us.

Modula History:

Modula's journey began in 1987 when the company was founded by Franco Stefani. With a focus on storing electronic materials efficiently, Modula emerged as an innovative solution within System Ceramics production plants. Inspired by existing rotating warehouses, Stefani's inventive spirit led to the creation of a vertical storage system that provided rapid and ergonomic access to essential components.

The turn of the millennium marked the expansion of Modula's sales network into new sectors, allowing the company to cater to diverse requirements.

In 2001, Modula opened a branch office in the USA, followed by offices in France in 2005 and Germany in 2009. During this period, Modula also established a new production site in Italy dedicated solely to manufacturing these automated solutions.

In 2010, Modula launched its flagship product, the Modula Lift, which quickly became the company's most successful and flexible offering.

Continuing to invest in R&D, Modula introduced several innovations to the Modula Lift.
In 2011, Modula unveiled the Sintes1, tailored for small to medium-sized applications. In 2013, the heavy-duty Modula Lift model featuring trays capable of up to 2,200 lbs. The global success further propelled Modula's growth. In 2015, the company inaugurated its second headquarters in North America, reinforcing its commitment to serving customers throughout the USA and Canada.

In 2016, new branch offices were opened in the UK and India, coinciding with the launch of Modula OnePick—a solution that further enhanced Modula's product offerings. In 2017, the company introduced Modula Cloud, a cutting-edge software platform, and expanded its production capabilities in China. In 2018 new branch offices were opened in Mexico and Spain.

In 2019, Modula launched Modula Slim, a space-efficient solution designed to fit warehouses with limited floor space. The same year, Modula further expanded its production site in Italy and inaugurated a new plant in China.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Modula remained committed to growth and in 2020 invested over $30 million in a new production site in Franklin, Ohio. Covering an impressive 242,000 square feet, the facility expanded the annual future production capacity by 2,000 VLMs, complementing the existing 500-unit capacity in Maine. In the same year, a direct branch office was opened in Singapore.

In 2021, Modula introduced the new Horizontal Carousel a perfect solution for application in low-ceiling environments, and expanded its offerings with Modula Climate Control and Clean Room solutions Furthermore, Modula extended its reach in the Latin American market with a new branch office in Colombia.

In 2022, Modula concentrated on reinforcing its position and maintaining quality standards. The Lewiston facility obtained ISO 9001:2015 certification, followed by the Ohio facility's certification in 2023, underscoring Modula's commitment to quality and international standards.

Today, Modula continues to lead the industry in automated storage and retrieval solutions. With a strong global presence, a diverse product portfolio, and a commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, Modula remains at the forefront of revolutionizing storage and retrieval systems worldwide.
