We’re from Austin, Texas, a city well-known for keeping it local. We know that local businesses play a big role in their communities, and we consider it our personal mission to help them win.
OutboundEngine was founded in 2012 in Austin, Texas as an email marketing service. In 2013 we expanded into social media marketing and welcomed the real estate, insurance, and mortgage industries onto the OutboundEngine platform. Since then, we’ve raised $39 million in funding, expanded into six more industries and continued adding new features and marketing channels to the platform. Most recently, in 2018, we enabled our customers to place paid advertising campaigns via Facebook and Instagram, right from the platform they’ve already grown comfortable with.
The marketing services we provide to our customers combine industry best practices from content marketing, email marketing, and social media marketing. We turn great business people into incredible relationship people by cultivating their audiences until they’re ready to do business.

Marketing crafts the content we sell, from email newsletters to social media campaigns. They assist our sales team by targeting potential leads with information about OE, advertising on different channels, and making our products as professional as possible. They are the voice of OutboundEngine, building and strengthening our brand every day.
Our Engineers keep the OutboundEngine train rolling, building and improving the systems that make what we do possible. It’s with their skills and expertise that we are able to offer new products, create enhanced user experiences, and capitalize on the vast amounts of data we acquire.

I have been working at OutboundEngine full-time (Less than a year)
The company fills a need for marketing for people who don't have time to do it themselves. It is helping people and saving them from a lot of the marketing pitfalls I've seen many people fall victim to.
No overtime pay is available for my position
Advice to Management
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at OutboundEngine in January 2018.
Your first contacted by a recruiter for a 10-15 minute phone interview. If that goes well you then meet with two managers over the phone for another 20-30 minutes each. If that goes well you’ve been going for a presentation that you present of their products. You have to put together a power point and have a mock phone call. This is done in person with the directors and another manager. The company as a whole seemed okay but this isn’t a position for experienced Sales Reps. I was told quite bluntly that you could be micro managed and how would I handle that.... it’s not a position for everyone however a less seasoned sales rep that needs a lot of direction could do well here.
