I worked at Penguin Computing (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Amazing co-workers, supportive and competent middle management.

    Cons

The software team is geographically scattered with just about everyone working from home, typically on separate projects. This makes communication and "belonging" for lack of a better word a bit difficult. Development effort are often subordinated to helping push out large orders.

    Advice to Management

Shift focus from hardware sales to POD. If possible, we need a dedicated position for deploying orders. The occasional double-duty for the dev team can hamper progress on product improvements.
