I have been working at Sentry Control Systems full-time (More than 5 years)
Sentry Control Systems has always been a great company to work for. There has never been a single year that it has not grown. There are lots of growing pains but I would rather have this problem than worry about what I was going to be doing tomorrow. With the growth comes lots of opportunities for relocation and advancement. If you like to move up quickly and you don't ind hustling, this is the right place for you. Great benefits, company cars, flexible hours, no hard start times and lots of autonomy to complete your work. They treat you like adults and expect you to take care of your responsibilities and manage yourself.
The decentralized management and flexible approach requires more responsibility and initiative from the individual employees. Not everyone knows how to behave in this environment. This is a for profit company which means that there is a balance between adding new resources and maintaining profitability. This applies lots of pressure on existing staff.
Advice to Management
Don't lose the Founders vision. Stay a 'Service' company!
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Sentry Control Systems (Ashburn, VA) in July 2016.
A joke! Call from recruiter, went through hurdles to submit forms and paperwork but the follow up time by Sentry internal HR was horrible.I completed first through their recruiter a resume submission, a questionnaire that repeated questions 3x, a PI survey which no one ever reviewed with me (also they claimed what took so long to get back to me was their reviewer of this survey was busy), I then resubmitted everything again to Sentry direct when recruiter stepped out of picture.
