Migros' retail empire spans supermarkets, specialty stores, and gas stations under the Migros, Globus, and Ex Libris banners. Its business also includes banking (Migros Bank), hotels (Hotelplan), and oil (Migrol), and wholesaling of its consumer goods. Migros was founded in 1925 and transformed into a cooperative by the late consumer rights advocate Gottlieb Duttweiler.
