Marc Glassman is out to prove that low prices can lead to big things. The regional retailer operates about 60 discount stores, most of which are Marc's Deeper Discount Drug Stores in northeast Ohio, but also a half-dozen Xpect Discount Drugs stores in Connecticut. The stores range in size from 18,000 sq. ft. to 48,000 sq. ft. About 50 of the locations have pharmacies and offer a constantly changing mix of closeout and excess merchandise in some 20 categories, including clothing, cosmetics, housewares, toys, and tools. The company specializes in seasonal products (Christmas, Halloween, lawn and garden). Owner and chairman Marc Glassman founded the company in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, in 1979.
