A holding company, Kyorin oversees the operations of four primary subsidiaries: Kyorin Pharmaceutical, a drug discovery and pharmaceuticals business that manufactures prescription medicines, diagnostics, and industrial chemicals; Dr. Program, its cosmetics and skin care products mail order company; Kyorin Rimedio, which manufactures and sells generic drugs; and Kyobundo, its sales promotion and advertising arm. The company is focused on increasing its drug discovery activities in Japan, as well as in the US and Europe. Kyorin, founded in 1923, already has affiliates and subsidiaries in Germany and the US.
