Description Once a century-old textile maker, Leeds Group weaves together a web of businesses that import and sell fabric. Its primary trading arm, Hemmers Europe, based in Germany, imports, warehouses and wholesales cloth to European retailers and boutique wholesalers, for apparel and home furnishings applications. It sells about 13 million linear meters of fabric a year. The group also holds a Shanghai trading business, Hemmers China. Leeds withdrew from textile processing, including fabric printing and yarn dying, as the industry began to shuttle to low-cost sources in the Asia/Pacific region. It is pursuing a business acquisition. Johan Claesson and entrepreneur Peter Gyllenhammer collectively own about 50% of Leeds.
