Description Mazu Networks can help you deal with seedy characters clogging your network. The company provides network security software that enterprises use to monitor, analyze, and manage network traffic. Mazu's software lets customers isolate attacks and filter out malicious network traffic, allowing legitimate traffic through without degrading network performance. The company was founded in 2000 (arising in part from the dissertation research of MIT students and co-founders Max Poletto and Eddie Kohler), and has received funding from Benchmark Capital, Greylock Management, Matrix Partners, and Symantec. Mazu agreed to be acquired by WAN optimization specialist Riverbed Technology for $25 million in cash in 2009.
