Description Bluesocket develops software and hardware that allows secure access to wireless networks in airports, hotels, offices, and schools. Its BlueSecure products -- which are used with laptops and wireless communications devices -- incorporate signal encryption technology for security, guarding against computer viruses, spam e-mail, and hacker attacks. The company's BlueView Management System software enables the configuration, monitoring, and management of multiple WLANs. Customers have included Harvard, Honeywell, and Toyota. Established in 1999, Bluesocket received private equity funding from investors including Ironside Ventures, Menlo Ventures, and Ridgewood Capital prior to its acquisition by ADTRAN in 2011.
