Reporters have to hold their questions and instead give the answers at The Poynter Institute, which provides seminars, workshops, and interactive courses for broadcast, print, and online journalists, as well as educators and students. In addition to reporting-focused courses, Poynter offers programs on ethics, design, photo and visual journalism, and leadership. The institute maintains a variety of resources, including a research library. Poynter owns the Times Publishing Company, which publishes the Florida-based St. Petersburg Times and its Washington affiliate, Congressional Quarterly. The institute was founded in 1975 by newspaper publisher Nelson Poynter.
