Uniquely enough, Village Travel didn’t start out as a motorcoach operation. When the Wichita-based company was founded in 1980, they were focused on planning ski tours to Colorado, shuttling customers to the airport and arranging rides to the slopes upon their arrival. One thing led to another, and by the end of the first ski season, the original owners had purchased their first motorcoach – an Eagle Model 10. To keep busy in the off-season, they started doing charters and day trips to Kansas City to watch the Royals play. In the last 40 years, Village has grown to be one of the largest charter bus and bus tour companies in the nation. Today, they plan 220+ group tours each year and operates nearly 190 motorcoaches. In 2000, Village’s fleet of 15 coaches was purchased by Jeff & Norm Arensdorf. The new owners continued to grow at a conservative pace of one or two coaches a year until they expanded into Oklahoma City, OK in 2005. After the 2011 acquisition of a business in Salina, KS, Village’s growth began to snowball. Since then, Village has either expanded into another market or made an acquisition every year. Today, they have 9 locations throughout Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and Louisiana. Our team of full and part time drivers drove 7.3 million miles in 2019, providing services for sports team charters, senior group tours, scheduled line services, employee shuttles, military moves, and cross-country adventures for nearly 8,000 groups. Our entertainer division, Village Coach, also transported hundreds of musicians, theatre groups and comedians on months-long tours. Village Travel also have a thriving retail Group Tour Department planning hundreds of trips domestically and internationally each year. Looking to plan a family vacation or honeymoon?
